CHC43115 – Certificate IV in Disability
OverviewDiscover your career in Certificate IV Disability with one of the high-level course structures offering you specialised skills that are required to operate in the health care industry.
This qualification prepares you for work in residential group homes, day respite centres, other community settings and in clients’ homes. During this course you will engage with local services during a work placement, where you will gain hands-on skills and knowledge.

There are no tests or exams in this course. The trainer will provide details of the assessment requirements and due dates for the assessment tasks.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for the course.
Before you can start your practical placement, you will be required to:
- provide a clear National Criminal History (Police) Check
- provide a record of your immunisation history
- provide evidence of your COVID vaccination (a new requirement mandated by the Australian Government)
- provide evidence of your flu vaccination (mandated by the Aged Care Sector).
- NDIS worker screen check, at least 6 weeks before placement commences
Applicants are expected to have literacy skills at Year 11 level or Australian Core Skills Framework Level 3 and numeracy skills at Year 10 level or Australian Core Skills Framework
Level 2. Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.
These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Outcomes
Qualification and recognition
On completion of the course, you will receive the CHC43115 – Certificate IV in Disability.

Working in this industry, students will provide both emotional and physical support to their clients. Students will have the skills to work across a number of settings, including disability support, aged care, and palliative care.
